Launceston Golf Club is a friendly members club

If you are considering membership and have not yet visited us we would encourage you to contact a member of the office team who will be pleased to discuss the various categories of membership available, show you around our facilities and arrange for a courtesy round. In the meantime, the various fees and subscriptions are listed below.

Sections

  • Men

    The Men’s section plays competitions every Sunday Morning. As well as this, there is a Captains’ evening every Wednesday from 16:00 through spring/summer and a fun roll-up every Saturday morning from 07:30-09:00 Every Thursday, there is also a roll-up from 11:00. The roll-ups and Captain’s evening are open to all sections of the club and provide a great way to mix and meet new people. Through the Winter the club enters into the various county matchplay competitions at venues across Cornwall. Our Men’s Captain this year is Paul Radley.

  • Ladies

    Our Ladies section are an active and fully integrated part of the club and are proud to be members of a club that has committed to the The R&A Women in Golf Charter. This commits us all to call on everyone involved in golf to play their part in developing a culture that values women’s involvement in every aspect of the sport, from participating to pursuing a career.

    The Ladies’ competition day is Thursday when the tee is reserved from 09.10-10.40 and entries are booked on-line using BRS golf. During the winter months, roll-up competitions are played on a Thursday along with the Winter League. Fun formats are also played through the year. As well as this there are lots of opportunities to play in matches throughout the year both at home and away at other clubs.

    Our Ladies hold a monthly medal and these are open to all players who hold a CONGU handicaps. These are usually played on Ladies Day and sometimes at weekends.
    There are a number of Mixed competitions held during the year and these are social events with a meal afterwards.
    The Ladies’ Captain organises the Ladies Cornwall League matches throughout the year, which are played in teams of seven, with a format of singles match play, full handicap difference.

    The Dunheved Ladies Society

    This is a golf society for ladies who have had their 55th birthday. The Dunheved Ladies meet every first and third Monday. Games are played over 15 holes, and entry is booked online via the BRS system.

  • Seniors Section

    Launceston Seniors Section comprise of more than 100 over-55’s enjoying a great programme of matches, competitions and social golf. With our club golf played on Tuesdays with regular Medal, Stableford and Cup Competitions and informal “roll-up” every Thursday and a schedule of over 40 home or away matches with clubs throughout Cornwall and Devon, the section provides a congenial basis for enjoyable seniors golf.

    The matches give an opportunity to play at some of the best courses around for just the price of a post-match meal and our home games provide a chance to welcome visitors to our delightful course. Teams are not picked on a handicap basis but designed to give all our members an equal chance to take part.

    The section also play in major inter-club competitions such as the Fred Rothwell Shield Competition at Perranporth and The Harry Champion at The Point.

    Our major golf event is the Duchy Shield and was held this year on Tuesday 6 June.

  • Juniors Section

    The juniors form an active section that is a fully integrated part of the Club. Our members range in age and ability and benefit from lots of opportunities to play in competitive and fun competitions and matches as well as meeting up just to play a few holes. The Juniors Practice Day is Sunday when the tee is usually reserved from 13.30 to 13.50pm and entries are booked on-line using BRS golf or through notifying the Junior Organiser or the professional.

    The juniors are part of the Cornwall League which is played in teams of five, with a format of singles match play, full handicap difference.   • St. Austell Brewery Corporate Agreement

    The Club has entered into an agreement with St. Austell Brewery whereby members are able to book a free fourball tee time at some local courses. It is only one fourball that the Brewery have per course per day and subject to no one else having booked. Please see attached the list of clubs which are part of the scheme.

  • Benefits of joining a Golf Club

  • Introductory Membership Offer

    We are offering a special rate introductory membership for one year only for completely new members to the Club this will give membership until the end of March 2025, when normal rates will apply.

Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC)

  • Launceston Golf Club is registered under the CASC scheme.

    The Club is open to all of the community including those on modest or low incomes. Any member or prospective member whose financial circumstances do not allow them to pay an annual membership subscription and associated costs of more than £520.00 is invited to apply to the Secretary and demonstrate that any sum above this figure is not affordable to them. An application will then be considered by the Management Committee and if accepted an alternative fee structure will be offered to the applicant.
